EDLD 5366 course and website project reflection

During the weeks of this course I learned many new aspects of technology that I had been ignorant of before. Some of which are creation of animation, logo design, and the main principles of design. I also learned how to easily create, modify, and construct a website that can be fully functional for any business or school district. Applying these newly discovered techniques and software with my previous knowledge of web browsers, Microsoft word, and knowledge of pdf creation, I was able to create projects for my weekly assignments that I never would have before this digital media course. As a learner I will take these new ideas into my classroom and school to help my students and colleagues discover interesting ways to relay and teach information. I feel confident that I can educate teachers and students how to use digital media technology software to expand the thought process across every subject matter. By learning in this type of hands on setting, I been able to collaborate with fellow educators to problem solve, discover new techniques, and create many projects making this course both fun and knowledgeable. By being allowed to work in groups on projects, such as the website development project, I have a better understanding of what my students will need to do to create a website of their own. It has also helped me to know the steps to guide them into web design using the proper principles and aspects of design that will be essential to creating their internet masterpiece. I look forward to the challenge of creating a website all on my own. I would like to learn more about incorporating video clips into websites, and I need to practice more using website building software, such as Google sites. I thought this project scratched the surface of web design, but would feel more comfortable teaching this type of lesson when I’ve had more practice in this area of technology.
